Hetalia: World Series 2 - Season Four (Limited Edition)

Arrived A Week After I Ordered, Via International Shipping
I live in New Zealand and I'm a huge otaku for anime. I love many different anime titles, Hetalia being among them, and I couldn't wait to get Season 4 to add to my collection. Trouble was when Season 4 came out, it hadn't even arrived in NZ yet and probably wouldn't for another few months or so. So I ordered the Limited Edition on Amazon.
I had never used amazon before so I was a little worried. I had a multi region DVD player but I still wondered if it would play region 1. Nevertheless the estimated arrival date for the DVD was August 22nd so I waited patiently.
To my surprise a week after I ordered the package had already arrived! It was packed well and in superb condition. The DVD played in my player, and it had everything advertised; the banner, the DVD etc etc. Thank you, Amazon, for the quick shipping and the great packaging!
Now onto the review of 'Hetalia' itself. Season 4 is one of the more crazier seasons, so you know you're in for a wild, hilarious ride...

So much politically incorrect fun
This show is so awkward and ridiculous... I love it! And this is one of the best seasons yet! I love England getting captured. Best segment ever!

Squee
I just got the package today and it's great. The extra CD has a compilation of Chibitalia and America's Storage Cleaning. They made it flow very well and cut out a lot of the unnecessary stuff. That made me very happy :). I find that this season is the best season yet. They go more into minor characters of Hetalia like Poland, Lithuania, Prussia, Hungary, and the Nordics. I love it!~ Of course it comes with the bandanna too which is very cute.

Nova: Why Ships Sink

This show focuses mostly on the Titanic and the recent Costa Concordia tragedies
I've been on quite a few cruises and I'm not sure I'd want to see the episode of the PBS show NOVA just before I left on vacation. But, as cruise ships keep getting larger and larger and, more importantly, taller and taller, the safety of cruising is an issue. In reality cruising may be the safest way to travel if you "read between the lines" while watching this 50-minute documentary.

The majority of the show deals with two cruise ship disasters that occurred exactly 100 years apart. In 1912 the Titanic sank and there were no survivors. In early January 2012 the Costa Concordia also hit a rock but all except for 38 passengers survived. It's a tragedy that the 38 lost their lives - primarily due to the ship's captain who delayed informing passengers for a full hour and then abandoned the ship himself. - but there were 4.200 passengers and crew on board.

There are no archival films of the Titanic disaster so NOVA uses recreations and photos. Since the Concordia got...

Fascinating
Not a video for those who like to cruise without worry, but definitely for those who want to know the risks of the new ships and how previous ships sunk. Scientific, not gruesome. VERY well done

Good Information About Cruising !!
My wife and I have cruised the world and will continue to enjoy cruising as long as we can. This movie has several key bits of information that every cruiser should see. We did benefit by watching this DVD. I will not spoil the content by revealing the details, but if you are thinking about a cruise, this DVD has key information that they do not tell you aboard ship.

Dynasty: Season Six, Vol. 2

"The Conclusion to Season 6"
This pack of episodes from "Dynasty-Season 6" includes the last 15 shows from 1985-1986. The series finished a healthy #7 in the all-important Nielsens and is regarded by many as the last great season of "Dynasty".

In these last episodes Alexis flies to Austalia to track down Blake's brother Ben to destroy her former husband and Ben is all too happy to do it, Claudia goes insane again and finds herself trapped in a fire, Dominique falls in love, Alexis and Krystle have another catfight rolling down a hill with Alexis snarling, "Look what you've done to this outfit you stupid bitch!!!!", and Blake trying to choke the life out of Alexis when she told him on top of the Carrington stairs, "Take all this junk and your blond tramp and get the hell out of my home", when she ruined him financially.

The last episodes along with their airdates are:

1. "The Accident", Jan. 29, 1986
2. "Souvenirs", Feb. 5, 1986
3. "The Divorce", Feb. 12, 1986
4...

Final Thought
DYNASTY had its time and place. It was on top for a while. My thoughts always go back to the image of Blake Carrington. That is an indelible image. Final thoughts of a Dynasty.

I feel ripped off just thinking about buying this!
I LOVE this show and particularly this season, so I won't add/duplicate commentary on it. What I hate is the rip-off of having to pay double to get a complete season to satisfy greed by its distributer- I hope someone buys the rights to this soon and sells it a complete season at a time (like Dallas) at a reasonable price.

Curtain Call [HD]

A love/ hate relationship.
Having a family member who is currently auditioning for different ballet companies made this series especially relevant. It is an inside look at Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah. In my title I said this was a love/hate relationship. I loved the actual dancing but really, six episodes dealing with Allison & Ron's co-dependent and basically unhealthy relationship? By the end of the series I was totally sick of both of them. But if you're a ballet fanatic like I am, it was an interesting show & I learned quite a bit about the real world of ballet as well. If only it wasn't for all the ridiculous teenage emo I would have given this more stars.

Seriously?
I would have enjoyed this more if there were less ridiculous drama and more about their hard work dancing. Allison and Ronnie in particular were difficult to watch, in fact I skipped past some of their parts. Who really cares about Allison leading on some poor guy who can't understand that she is friend zoning him for forever but wants him around when she needs someone? To boot she's jealous and nasty to anyone who is better than her.

Great Ballet Show
The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because the soap opera element of the personal relationships distracts from the ballet insider's view at times. Otherwise, great show!

Skater Who Cried Wolf/Good Dog, Bad Dog Academy

Very Good
Personally, I think that "Wild Grinders" is basically an improvement over the kind of programming that is available these days. Sometimes, true, gags relating to flatulence are recurring, though it basically is a nice series. Some episodes are better than others, but the ones that are better can be quite entertaining.

Leap Frog: Letter Factory

Great for Primary Classrooms too!
This is one of the best learning DVD's I have seen. It will be a great watch for the Pre-k to first grade classrooms. The DVD teaches the letter names. Most importantly, it teaches the letter sounds in a creative way. Viewers see the letters, hear the letter names, they see a picture/video that represents the sound each letter makes, and the viewer hears a catchy tune to match the letter sound. For instance, the letter C is shown in a cold environment with ice hanging from it. The letter comes to life by shivering and stating that it is /c/ /c/ /c/.... old. Then the characters in the story sing the catchy Leapfrog song; "The C says/c/, the C says /c/, every letter makes a sound. The C says /c/. This DVD/VHS is marketed towards parents to use with their PreK to First grader, but all teachers need to know about this video and share it with their class. It would be a great review or introduction to letter sounds. Teachers could also use the catchy phrases and visual representation of the...

2 yr old son loves the Letter Factory!

The best there is! You HAVE to get this!
I just can't believe how well done this DVD is for little ones. My little guy, age 3, learned his letters and sounds very quickly after watching this DVD. Then, 3 weeks later after not watching it for about that long, he's still talking about what sounds each letter makes. It's very well done, makes it very easy for children to understand, plus it's very enjoyable to watch. After about 34 times of hearing, "The R says errrr" with that tune attached gets a little redundant, but not to little ones. You have to get this for every preschooler you know. It's really that good!

Simply watching once has given me confidence in my recording abilities. Revisiting particular sections is helpful for details of getting the recording just right. If you're new to recording, several key concepts such as multi track, setting levels are explained. If you've got a R24 recorder, I recommend you get this tutorial to get the most out of it.

fun show
if you love negotiations, this is the show for you! my favoritre was a woman who turned down 500k because she thought she thought her item was worth 1 miliion. she was so cool and collected, but failed to realize the basic distinction between retail and wholesale. her item was undocumented as well. stupiest refusal of money, ever!

Heavy Metal / Longstreet Civil War Cannon
The show looks like it could really be a fun hit. The people selling antiques were really great but the dealers do not seem to treat them fairly at all. Just look at Suzy and Rich with the Longstreet Cannon. Come-on now, only 1 offer and at $10k when they had appraisals in the $30 - $40k range. Are you really implying to the viewers that there is not an interest in the Civil War??? Really??? You can see the anger with Suzy during the closing interview. I think the show will be a hit when you get reasonable dealers that are not completely arrogant. I vote for bringing back Suzy and questioning what made her so angry - My money is on her really ripping into the dealers! Then you will have some exciting "Reality TV."

Calculus 1: Extra Practice with Integrals - Volume 2 - 5 Hour Course!

The hard part of Calc II
This material covers what is for many people the hardest part of Calc II. The area and volume integration problems and integration by parts. Jason does several problems on the disk, shell and washer methods for calculating volume, and tons of integration by parts problems. There are a couple other topics that he covers, but those are the big ones. The two things I wish he would have showed in this set was the table method for integration by parts that makes the problems much quicker and easier, and show some of the washer, shell and disk method problems revolving around the alternate axis. Even without those, he explains the concept far better than the book ever does.

There are a couple caveats I want to make. There are several integration techniques that you will get exposed to in class that are not on this or volume 1 of this set. They are however covered on his calculus 1 & 2 tutor and advanced calculus 2 tutor DVDs. This is really just fleshing out what was on...

Like having 1 out of 2 crutches.
The price of these DVD's are a bit on the high end, but it is well worth it. This professor tries his best to teach you the meat and potatoes of Introductory Calculus. The only problem with these dvd's is that they need to be accompanied by some sort of workbook in order to reinforce the concepts he is trying to teach you.He even mentions this during the tutorials, telling us to pause and do some problems on our own! I have yet to find the right book for the job. Don't bother with the Calculus for Dummies workbook, it's a jumbled mess. I'm looking for a workbook that gradually teaches you each concept through various problems ranging from easy to difficult. If any of you find it, please let me know. I'm trying so hard to CLEP out of Calculus.

Tai Chi works for my Fibromyalgia
I suffer with Fibromyalgia which is chronic muscle pain. I enjoy this particulare teaching tool because the product allows me to work at a slow pace or a more acclerated pace depending on my pain level. The instructor encourages me to work within my own skill set. Anna York's own physcial limitations and challenges gives me on going belief that perserverance is the key to Success. I observe her Positive Attitude as she works through the movements and I stay encouraged to do the same. I like the style in which the DVD is broken up because it allows me to work on Specific techniques whenever I am unable to complete all seven days at one workout. This DVD is an inspriation to me as a person struggling daily with physical challenges. GREAT JOB!! Thank You Anna York, Estraleta Jones

Love this video!
This is my first real experience with this type of exercise, but now it is a something I look forward to on a regular basis, and I don't even have to leave home to do it! I really appreciate Anna's clear descriptions of the all of the movements, so it is easy for me to follow along. The music and her calm voice help to make this a relaxing experience as well as beneficial exercise. The beautiful and serene landscape pictures with Anna exercising are also helpful for me in seeing each move individually, thus helping me improve my technique. The video is easy to navigate through, so I can practice more on different areas of need.

I appreciated seeing people participating in ways that are appropriate for their physical capabilities--sitting or standing. I can definitely see the benefits for people with a variety of disabilities, and although I'm not disabled--just getting older!-- these exercises are really helping to loosen my muscles, give me more flexibility and balance as...

Meaningful, sincere and helpful
What I like the best about this DVD is that it comes from someone who really knows what she is talking about. We see many Tai Chi/Qi Gong instructors who teach it without having personally experienced how it has dramatically improved their health, and changed their lives forever. Anna York, on the other hand, who I think is one of the very few survivors of multiple sclerosis in the world, uses her own story to try to help others achieve that same healing, whether it is from multiple sclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, or for just plain general well being; she does it in a caring, clear, graceful manner. I highly recommend this DVD to everyone, irrespective of age, gender, and level of physical mobility. As someone who uses this regularly, I can only say that it has helped me tremendously to get into, and stay with a regimen of exercises that works well for someone in her late 50s.

Doctor Who: Death to the Daleks (Story 72)

Nice Episode! One Disc DVD Extras are Fun!
This a pretty good episode of Dr. Who. The Daleks seem to show more initiative than I usually give them credit for. When their standard laser make-you-disappear weapons don't work, they fit themselves out with old-fashioned mechanical guns and even practice on a model TARDIS (which they must carry with them for fun?!).

"Death to the Daleks" originally aired in 1974. Story Synopsis: The TARDIS has (yet another) glitch, goes off course, and ends up on the planet of Exxilon. Something drains the TARDIS' power, and they're stranded. The Doctor and Sarah Jane leave to investigate. The Doctor meets up with a similarly stranded Marine Space Corp patrol. They came to Exxilon to gather the element parrinium, the only known antidote to a massive plague that is sweeping the galaxy.

Sarah Jane is fascinated with a giant white building with a beacon flashing on top. She is captured by a group of native Exxilons, who say she has defiled their city and must die. Unbeknownst to...

Humor, sci-fi, Pertwee...
First off, the Daleks are one of my favorite bad guys and Jon Pertwee is also a favorite of mine, not just as the Doctor but as a actor. I like the idea of a living city, even if it was inorganic in structure, and the acting was not that bad. I also like that the Daleks have tiny a TARDIS for target practice! Yes, the planet of Exxilon seems boring and lifeless. Yes, the natives look like something a five year old created. The idea that they would blend into the cave walls and sometimes glow seemed to be a interesting idea that does not REALLY comes across very well on the small screen. The special effects were, after all, BBC 1970's special effects so there is that. The maze to get into the city isn't half bad and the idea of aliens just visiting Earth is refreshing when compared to all the aliens who seem to have either tried to invade it or crash landed on it. How do you not see a planet? Were you adjusting the radio? Er...back to topic.
The plot is simple. The...

Classic Doctor Who: DEATH TO THE DALEKS
The 5-Star rating is for the quality and value of the DVD. Superb job as is typical of the Doctor Who restoration team for Classic Era Doctor Who DVD products.

DEATH TO THE DALEKS
Story # 72
Season 11's Third Story
Third Doctor, Jon Perwee Era, final season 1973-74
Third Classic Sarah Jane Smith Story

OVERALL STORY RATING 7/10
In Elisabeth Sladen's opinion, DEATH TO THE DALEKS was always an underrated and overlooked story. I agree totally with her assessment. I was pleasantly surprised to find DEATH TO THE DALEKS a very well-paced and entertaining story, full of interesting and unusual Sci-Fi concepts, as well as being a very unique Dalek story. Other than some very minor acting or special effects bobbles, DEATH TO THE DALEKS is a solid story and production.

It is entirely possible that the main reason DEATH TO THE DALEKS is not well-remembered among WHO fans is because the musical track is unusual in its support or...

Becker: The Fourth Season

Ok but 1 of the 3 DVDs didn't play in my DVD player.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Becker. I ordered the 1st,2nd & 3rd season set they worked great plus I have the option of watching the entire DVD or selecting my episode. When I saw the 4th season I purchased it right away. 2 of the DVDs played in my DVD player but the 3rd of Season 4 did not. I was very disappointed. The DVD does work b/c it played in my laptop. However I don't want to watch it on my laptop. I didn't like that and Season 4 doesn't provide the option of watching the entire DVD you have to play episode by episode, what a disappointment.

Great show but disc manufacturing took a step backwards
I love this show, always have. Even though I'm not very fond of Manufacture on Demand, it'll have to do. What I do NOT like about this particular one is that there is no PLAY ALL. Each episode has to be selected one at a time. Therefore, the rating is for the manufacturing, not the show.

Bring on Season 5!
Becker is my all time favorite TV comedy along with Cheers followed closely by Everybody Loves Raymond. I bought the first 3 seasons ages ago and have been anxiously awaiting Season 4. I immediately ordered it when I saw it pop up on Amazon last week. Now let's not wait so long for the rest of the seasons. I will miss Reggie and wish they would have had her appear from time to time during the remaining seasons.

Leap Frog: Math Circus

A Great Intro Video to Math Concepts for kids--math circus
Unlike the previous reviewers I thought this video was great. Though it could be longer, it gives kids (mine are 4.5 and 2.5) a good introduction to basic math concepts: association, addition and subtraction.

One of the problems small children have is that they memorize numbers and can "count" but they don't associate the numbers with an actual quantity. This video uses small white mobile cubes called "quidgets" to teach them that numbers `correspond' to a certain number of objects.

My kids are pretty engrossed by this video and I am overjoyed that I can now give my four-year-old simple hand problems and she can solve them.

Video Outline:

--Numbers are produced: "0 to 10".

--Numbers are associated with corresponding numbers of quidgets, coins, fingers, etc.

For example, no quidgets, then one quidget. The white box gets a number 1 which jumps onto it and stays.

Two quidgets stack vertically... the...

Outstanding Beginning Math Video
I am an elementary school teacher, previously an early childhood teacher. For the last 3 years I have been teaching 3rd grade math. One of the biggest problems with children, even in the third grade, is a poor understanding of numbers, what they represent and what basic operations actually do. Mental math is at an all time low. When they reach my class, many children are behind and struggle to catch up. Having a strong foundation in number sense is imperative for future success in mathematics. This video helps young children understand what exactly a number stands for and what is happening when numbers are added or subtracted. The video is 30 minutes long, it has catchy songs, and a story line most kids enjoy. Is it enough to teach a child everything they need to know about numbers? No. However, it helps a student understand these concepts much better, and helps build the foundation they need to succeed.

This video is part of the LeapFrog DVD series, which are the...

They have certainly got some explaining to do
Parents and children who loved the other Leap Frog DVDs about letters, words and reading will find this one disappointing.

Advertised as beginning math, this one is mixed up in its focus, spending quite a bit of time on recognizing the numbers from 0 to 10 (especially zero) and relating them to “quidgets”, then quickly jumping to addition and subtraction without sufficient explanation or introduction of the concepts. Starting with simple counting, by the end of the 35 minutes, they’re showing us ten times tables up to one hundred.

Very young children will probably like the repetitive cowboy “numbers” song, and may even stick around for the “circus” acts and accompanying slapstick routines, but the concepts advance too quickly for this age group. Kids who already know their numbers won’t learn anything new from the beginning of the presentation, but then again, they probably won’t learn anything from the rest...

The Big Bang Theory: The Complete First Season [Blu-ray]

Smart, original, and very VERY funny
I admit, I didn't want to like this show. After all, it replaced my favorite CBS sitcom from the previous year, The Class. But I gave it a chance, and I'm really glad I did.

The Big Bang Theory tells the story of 4 young geniuses, as they find it will take more than book-smarts to navigate the unchartered waters of relationships in the real world. Into their world of role-playing games and physics in-jokes comes Penny, a beautiful waitress who somewhat reluctlantly becomes the guys' guide to life outside their academic shells.

What really sets the show apart from other half-hour comedies is the writing. You'd probably need an advanced degree in math or science to know whether some of the jokes are based on real concepts, but it doesn't matter. Just watching the two leads (flawlessly played by Johhny Galecki and Jim Parsons) try to co-exist with Penny living across the hall is pure comic gold. Jim Parsons (as uber-nerd Sheldon) may be the funniest comic...

Great Fun for Geeks...and Everyone Else
The TV sitcom is not dead. Chuck Lorre has resurrected the universe of comdey with The Big Bang Theory, Monday nights at 7:00 PM CST. Hysterically, laugh out loud, belly-bustingly funny, this show is not to be missed.

The premise is fresh and fun: two young, genius, nerdy, socially awkward science professors named Sheldon and Leonard share an apartment. Across the hall, in moves Penny - a sweet, beautiful, blond bombshell who waitresses at the Cheesecake Factory. Leonard immediately falls for her. Penny cares for Leonard, but she loves him like a brother...

It is a phenomenon how unbelievably funny this show is. The writing is smart, creative, and consistent. The characterizations are masterful and avoid being over the top. The acting and comic timing are inspired. This cohesive ensemble cast jelled from day one, and has never looked back. As comical and wacky as this show is, every time I watch it, I think "I KNOW these people. I know people just like...

Intelligent, witty, and creative: What else could you possibly want?
Clear the decks on Monday nights on CBS at 8:00 EST. You will not regret it. Okay, I absolutely love this show. It is the funniest thing I have ever seen on television. Every episode is a little gem. The writing is bright and hilarious and the acting and casting are superb. I cannot remember any new sitcom that I have ever watched that hit the ground running like this one did or where the cast jelled so quickly as a tight ensemble. I had almost completely sworn off network television sitcoms after those halcyon days of Seinfeld had finally passed. (May you rest in peace, beloved characters Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer, and "Newmie.") Then a friend told me about this hilarious new sitcom, THE BIG BANG THEORY, about two science geeks named Sheldon and Leonard. When I finally got around to watching the show at the third episode, I was astounded at how unbelievably funny this show actually was. The writing was smart and creative and the acting and comic timing were simply...

Calculus 1: Extra Practice with Integrals - Volume 1 - 5 Hour Course!

Great supplement for integrals
Anyone who has taken calculus can tell you that doing integration is the hardest part of the first-year calc sequence. And, if you do not get the concept early it will carry over into all the other courses where you need to be able to do integrals. The farther along you get, the more you are going to be expected to do them quickly.

This set really enforces the basic integration techniques. It starts out introducing the concepts and the use of rectangles to approximate the area under the curve. Jason does not spend time on things like Simpson's Rule, Euler's Method and the Midpoint Rule, which you will use in class when you first start learning integrals. So, as I have stated in other reviews of Jason's products do NOT rely on this as a substitute for class and homework. It is a supplement for a reason.

The big concepts Jason touches on in this volume are integrating polynomials, exponential, logarithms and trig functions. Then he spends a ton of time on...

A+
I cannot say enough about this and all the other math DVD's this company offers. No matter how much I read and studied my textbook, I was still having trouble with calculus so I desperately bought the video to see if it would help. What I realized is that I needed to be able to see the process over and over until I felt I really understood it. With a video, it is easy to replay the segment as many times as you need. Often, taking a derivative is not even the real problem; rather it is simplifying the answer down to the final form that I needed more help with and this DVD really helped with that. Jason offers numerous samples from the various ways that you need to take a derivative so that you can easily see the process and apply it to your own homework. I also ordered the higher level DVD's to get through Calc II. Honestly, I did not get an A, but I don't think I would have passed without the additional help these DVD's provided.

Very Helpful
This guy is good. Helped me with Calculus. I have about 4 of his dvds and they helped me pass calculus.

El Cazador de la Bruja - The Complete Series S.A.V.E.

my favorite from Girls with Guns series
[Note: I own the thinpak version of this anime, but it's not likely to be much different than this re-release.]

This is the last of Bee Train's "girls with guns" series of animes, the first was Noir, second was Madlax, and lastly El Cazador. I've watched all of them and it's been a blast...mapping analogies and comparing plot developments between them. It's been like listening to variations on a theme for a musical composition.

Personally, my favorite of the three is El Cazador. This time the gunslinger isn't superhuman. Yes she's an extraordinary sharpshooter, but she makes mistakes. The other half of the duo also isn't nearly so helpless as the analogous characters in Madlax were. Ellis' skills develop at a nice pace through the entire series, so I never had to roll my eyes at a character being rescued or getting in the way *yet again*. What's also nice is that the primary characters develop a comfortable relationship with each other over the course of...

Realism in the Southwest (Spoiler Alert)
El Cazador de la Bruja is a top-notch story of Nadie, a bounty hunter, and Ellis, the 17 year-old girl she is protecting. The anime qualifies only distantly as a "girls with guns" story, since Nadie is in fact armed, but the shoot-`em-up elements are minor compared to the story of Nadie and Ellis' relationship as they wander around somewhere between the Southwestern US and Mexico being chased by a hell's-brew of wealthy government agencies, witches, love-sick mutants, and other bounty hunters all with suspicious, if not downright nasty, agendas. We quickly learn that Ellis is not what she seems to be (we never thought she was), but the focus isn't on the dramatics. So if you want a slam-bang noir-flavored gun story, watch something else - because otherwise El Cazador de la Bruja is going to bore you witless. The settings and characters nearly always involve poor people, marginally linked to society, in a picaresque road-trip tale of near-misses and near-disasters as Nadie and Ellis...

Great story with a lot of heart
I watched on crackle. Was hooked from the first show. The chemistry between Nadae and Ellis. And the mystery of Ellis's situation.
At the end of the series I was left wanting more. I was hoping to find a sequel, but no such luck. What will they do next?

Inductance [HD]

Too bad it's missing an episode.
I saw about half of this series when it was available instantly from Netflix. It is just as good as the first season and continues to develop the characters in the series. I would love to purchase the entire season here, but sadly it is missing an episode. I imagine if the missing episode was available I could purchase the entire season at a discount to the 1.99 per episode price.

2nd time's also a charm
Every bit as good as the first season. Section 9 takes on an internal threat this time, spending less time in cyberspace and more time dealing with geopolitical consequences.

love
I just want more to be made. I don't see why they stopped making more episodes and movies.

Show is brilliant.

A Satiric British Mockumentary Series About The Days Leading Up To The 2012 Olympic Games
A perfect companion piece for the current 2012 Olympic games, "Twenty Twelve" is so of-the-moment that I'm afraid it will be forgotten soon after the games end. And that would be a shame! This incisive British mockumentary series expertly skewers the trails and tribulations of the individuals responsible for prepping London for the impending competition. Shot over two seasons, the entire run of the series is only 13 episodes with Season One comprised of six of those. I watched both seasons back to back and that seemed an ideal prelude to seeing the Olympics in an amusing new light. What "Twenty Twelve" does well, it does exceedingly well. Strikingly, the show feels both incredibly real and absolutely absurd and this is a difficult balancing act to pull off. It's not an easy job preparing for a world event, and our hapless heroes are tasked with making everyone content at every moment in the most politically correct manner possible. And that's a task that just might be too big! The...

Studio One 2 - Beginner/Intermediate Levels Music Pro Guides DVD

Good PreSonus Studio One 2 Video Guide But
This DVD is a good PreSonus Studio One 2 Beginner/Intermediate Music Pro Guide but the DVD lacks the pro touch. The DVD was made in 2012, a year in which the widescreen is common and preferred over box or fullscreen. This DVD tutorial is in box or fullscreen format and low quality format. This DVD tutorial is not in widescreen format nor is it in high definition. The video tutorial is somewhat blurry or fuzzy, not professional quality. Because of this amateurish DVD formatting, I gave this DVD tutorial only three stars. Had the DVD formatting been professional, I would have given it five stars because of the content. The content of the DVD, the tutorial itself, is excellent. The information on the DVD is very good. I think the price of this DVD tutorial is too high because of its amateurish formatting, box screen and blurry video. However, it is watchable, much like a low resolution video on the internet.

One of the best dexter seasons, but don't buy this.
This is probably the best season of dexter I've watched besides season 4. The storylines are varied and it felt very fresh. I would recommend anyone that's a fan watch this season. With that being said, don't buy this product.

The only problem is that showtime decided to spoil the ending to the season in the unskippable preview at the start of the DVD. How anyone with a brain decided this was a good plan is beyond me. The only logical conclusion is that no one at showtime possesses any brain whatsoever.

Here's a note about your fans, Showtime. Not all of them subscribe to your channel. So, putting the finale in the preview of the content I *just* bought along with other shows they may or may not care about and making it unskippable is beyond stupid.

I should've read the reviews, since many people seem to have noticed this as well. But, I didn't think I needed to since I was already convinced I was going to buy this product.

I won't be buying...

PLEASE READ if you like Dexter
My husband and I are both huge fans of Dexter. We pre-ordered the DVDs for this season as soon as we were able.

Unfortunately, we were not able to enjoy this season. When you insert each of the 4 DVDs in this box set, you are forced to watch a 2 minute ad for Showtime. You are not able to skip the ad on any of the DVDs, and are forced to sit through it as it displays a number of Showtime shows. It even includes an ad for the sixth season of Dexter...

The ad for Dexter is only about 6 seconds long. Interestingly, the marketing team at Showtime thought it would be nice to show THE LAST SIX SECONDS OF THE SEASON YOU'RE ABOUT TO WATCH! It ruined the entire season before we even got a chance to watch it. I have sent a letter to Showtime iterating this blatant oversight. I will update this review if/when I receive a response from them.

Update 9/2:
I received a response from Showtime. They thanked me for informing them of the error, but did not...

Who's the IDIOT at Showtime?!
I loved this 6th season of Dexter, but who is the IDIOT, the MORON that decide to put all the Showtime ads on the front of each disc that you CAN NOT escape out of, you CAN NOT skip through, you CAN NOT FAST FORWARD through that you are forced to watch in order to get to the main menu and then to include in that montage quite LITERALLY the LAST shot of the final episode of Dexter's 6th season. HOW STUPID ARE YOU?!!!

The Otto Show

Simpsons! I am older than most think out there and should be watching PBS or something but...
The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror series is simply funny and clever! I can watch these things over and over. I have stopped watching regularly but whenever I have seen all of Archer or the Venture Brothers, the place I head to is Fox's best animated family!

Can't go wrong with classic Simpsons
Technically speaking, this show gets 5 stars. It streams just fine.

Probably the only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because some of the later seasons (like the next four) are just perfect. There are a couple of week episodes, but these are still way better than the current episodes of the Simpsons. Season 3 is great, it's just not one of the best.

Homer At the Bat
This classic Simpsons episode is great. The graphics are a little outdated but that's because it's from season 3. This episode is baseball themed featuring many old baseball greats such as Roger Clemens and Ken Griffey Jr. along with many more.

Greatest Anime TV Show of All Time
with the possible exception of the second gig. Bothe are absolutely killer. Bought this for use with my Kindle FireHD, despite owning the whole thing on disc already. Very convenient, but also pricey...too bad the Ultraviolet thing isn't universal. I don't want to have to sort out the whole Handbrake thing...<sigh> Anyhow, looks, sounds and plays great on the Fire, although if you like subtitles, you may be out of luck. I can't figure out how to turn them on, if they are even there.

Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex - Season 1
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex Season 1 is an excellent series. If you liked original Ghost in the Shell movie, there is a great chance that you will like the series also. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the series are dubbed in English and the voices are not as good as in Japanese version - personally I would prefer an option to watch in Japanese with English subtitles.

Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex Season 1 - Volume 1
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex Season 1 - Volume 1 was pretty good and I liked it

Forget Me Not

Great Set!
All 3 seasons in one package! it doesn't get any better than this. These are complete and unedited unlike some sets that are being released with different music, or edited episodes. season 1 is in black and white as originally aired, seasons 2 and 3 are in color as aired. I have watched reruns for years and when i saw that the complete series was available as one set, i couldn't pass it. Bonus footage includes interviews with Russell Johnson and Sherwood Schwartz, also included is the pilot episode with a different 'professor' 'Ginger' and 'Mary Ann' and different opening and closing music. A great treat for fans and someone that wants it all! Quality is excellent! I don't purchase many tv shows on dvd, but this was a must for me! 5 stars without a doubt!!!

It's funny precisely because it's so incredibly ridiculous
Gilligan's Island has often been an object of ridicule for both professional critics and self-annointed intellectuals alike, most of whom point out the various implausibilities in the show (i.e., the Professor is an "idiot" because he can cause nuclear fission using coconuts but can't build a raft, the unliklihood of the Howells taking a "three hour tour" on an obviously inexpensive charter boat, let alone taking along three season's worth of wardrobe and costumes with them, ad nauseum), but chances are these same critics have also seen many -- if not all -- the show's episodes, and have enjoyed at least a few guilty laughs for their trouble.

One of the reasons why Gilligan's Island is such a great show (it is the most re-run show in the history of television, and that INCLUDES I Love Lucy) is precisely because it is so wacky, nonsensical, and flat-out ridiculous.

In Gilligan's Island -- The Complete First Season, viewers are treated to 34 original episodes,...

A must have for Gilligan fans
Gilligan's Island The Complete First Season is a must have for fans of the 1960's comedy. Everything you could want is here. The 3-disc set includes all 36 episodes from the first season presented in standard black and white. The episodes look great in black and white rather than that awful color that was inserted into them while on TBS. The DVD also includes the lost pilot episode with three different cast members alongside Gilligan, the Skipper, and the Howells. Also on the DVD are tropical tidbits about certain episodes, profiles on how the cast was selected, and a tropical island survival guide.

The excellent cast really made this show what it was. Bob Denver as Gilligan, Alan Hale JR as the Skipper, Jim Backus as Thurston Howell III, Natalie Schaefer as Lovie Howell, Tina Louise as Ginger, Russell Johnson as the Professor, and Dawn Wells as Mary Ann made up one of the best ensemble casts in television history. Fans of this much loved show should run out and buy...

Oops! Busted!
This issue was also covered in a recent episode of "Cops." A woman is caught on tape arranging to have her husband killed.

In R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet," he sings, "This girl could win an Oscar!" You will think the same thing here. The guilty wife cries her eyes out when the police trick her into thinking her husband is dead. Even though her husband later reveals that he learned about her plot, she still lies her butt off. The husband says something that those desperate ppl who try to get reality shows don't realize: "My life is too boring to turn into a TV show!" Also, the husband looks a lot like Nick Lachey.

Unfortunately, some women think they can lie their way out of anything. However, some to brush up on their Shakespeare and remember who happened to Ophelia and Lady MacBeth. From what I heard, this fact pattern was an internet sensation. It can def'ly provide a source for conversation when chatting with someone on the phone.

Wendi Andriano episode is the best!!!
Great stories. Loved The Wendi Andriano episode. Juan Martinez is a great Prosecutor and he got her what she deserved..The death penalty

Lots and lots of redundancy.
You could make this show a half hour. Some people like this type background history on the offenders. I don't, seems like all of them are either Sociopaths or suffer from Narcisism. You can throw in borderline personality once in a while. Sex and greed for money seem to be the motives for most murders.

OK, Let's stop the repeats. I've been frustrated with the Munks releases. Several of them don't even have title cards like they aired on TV. It's getting to be that all of the episodes are repeats on a disc. Since I already own this episode, I won't be getting this release. The second Valentines release, Driving Dave Crazy are all repeat episodes. NO THANKS. I'm saving my money.

Wild Kratts: Jungle Animals

Love these guys
Have you met Chris and Martin Kratts? They are the coolest mamas helpers you can possibly imagine. Kratts brothers are the hosts of the popular PBS kids show "Wild Kratts". My kids are glued to the screen when there is an episode of this show on. We only met Wild Kratts few months age, but both kids and us fell in love with this great show.
The cartoon guys have some super cool suites that can turn into one animal or another to let them interact with the animals in the segment. Each segment dedicates to one animal kind - shows its life style, social construction, hunting/defending methods, families, etc in the cartoon world while the real guys show the real animals and their habitat. A combination of cartoon and a documentary makes it look very cool and widens target audience. We had both of our kids, 2 year old and 4 year old sitting and watching it (that is quite unusual). And you know it is good, if you child wants to see it again as soon as it's over.

Wild Kratts:...

Daughter Loves it

Captivating Bellydance Choreography

Fabulous DVD
This is a wonderful dvd for learning a great choreography as well as intermediate/advanced technique. Amar is a beautiful dancer and great teacher. I really like the choreography itself. Great for shows, restaurant, etc. Beautiful piece of music used from Samy Farag. I have her other dvd and this one is great too. Both top notch! Thanks for another wonderful dvd--looking forward to the next one!

Anything Amar!
Amar is an amazing instructor. Her ability to impart knowledge is stellar.

She is very thorough with this choreography beginning with the warm up. She demonstrates a few of the moves that may require refreshing. Ample practice is allowed. She then demonstrates each combination and allows ample practice. Modifications are also demonstrated as well. This is followed by a run-through of the entire choreography and then a performance in costume. Wow she is so lovely. This choreography is for mid intermediate and advanced intermediate dancers. Amazon has the cd with the music and the entire cd is SLAMMIN! If you are looking for a new fun choreography that is not grueling to learn - just get this. This choreo lends itself to improv as well. Just get it.

useful receipes and product evaluations
I like the simplified receipes and cooking tips that produce good food. The explanation of the science behind certain processes or the illustrations of where certain cuts of meat come from add a kind of "Alton Brown" to the program. The product evaluations are interesting. I can do without the quirky costumes though!

Watch it for the tips
I started watching this to figure out what I was doing wrong with pork chops. I was cooking them too long and using stuff that dries them out.I learned all kinds of tips to make my food better from this shows no - nonsense advice. Cook the pumpkin and let it cool before baking it into a bread or pie to get rid of the tinny taste. The right steps to keep a turkey breast nice and juicy on inside and crispy skin on the outside. when making a cheesecake, measure the gelatin so your dessert is not too jiggly or soggy. I love they show you what cuts of meat to buy and what kind of breads to buy and how it should look. Also I wish they would show what to do if you don't have a bunch of kitchen gadgets and you can't buy them. I do think they use too many ingredients sometimes and some people might find chris annoying. My mother and other people find him smug and prickly. Maybe he is in real life, I don't know. West Coast Seattle Boy: Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child [Blu-ray]

Must have for Hendrix fans. Pretty good, but not great.
About the feature:
This is a documentary of Jimi Hendrix's life "in his own words", there is a narrator speaking as he was Jimi. Gathered from letters from Jimi to his family, interviews and other sources, gives a personal touch to the feature, innovative storytelling, gotta give it that.

About the content:
It isn't great tough, if you are looking for a detailed retrospective narrating every detail on how things came to happen you won't find it here, if you are looking for a concert film and a lot of performances, won't find that here either, it's more like a personal diary overview of jimi hendrix.

About the disc:
Given the source material, Bluray quality isn't great, it's as good as it gets of course, but no HD to be found here. What I think it's a shame, and makes me drop a star out of this product, is the lack of extras, it would be great if it contained the full performances of the bits shown in the film, or at least a couple. Charlie Rose - Charlie Rose Brain Series 2 Episode 8: Parkinson's Disease and Huntington's Disease (June 15, 2012)

The Light Shining At The End of a Long Tunnel
Charlie Rose's programs are a beacon - not just a light - in our present day media world - so full of distortions! Opinions based on true research and the integrity of the interviewee are Charlie's guideline to every one of his programs. But his brain series are especially enlightening. In series 2 episode 8 we are left with more hope for medical application of the amazing results of our brain research teams. For all sufferers of Parkinson, Hutchinson's or Alzheimer's disease it has been the burning question: when will all this discovery find its way into medication and treatment?
The episode 8 program boosts this hope tremendously. Having a sister in advanced stage of Parkinson's and a husband in a very early stage of dementia this program presented truly the light at the end of the tunnel! I just wish many more people would tune in on the Charlie Rose programs and to help spreading the information fostered by him prompted me to purchase the tape.

Dark Shadows: The Complete Original Series (Deluxe Edition)

"O.K....Now We're Talking!!!!"
The following review is dedicated to my favorite actor of all-time, Jonathan Frid who passed away peacefully in his native Canada on April 14, 2012. We will miss you Mr. Frid, but thankfully we have your years of work on DVD for posterity to remember you by. God bless you "Barnabas".

With the release film version of the 1960's cult classic daytime soap opera "Dark Shadows" starring Johnny Depp MPI Home Video has released "Dark Shadows-The Complete DVD Collection"! This has made all of us "Dark Shadows" fans extremely happy, especially those of us that haven't yet purchased any DVD sets of the series. All 1225 episodes from the ABC network daytime run (1966-1971) are available along with a slew of bonuses including interviews with series creator Dan Curtis and various stars of the soap.

Luckily for the show's fans all episodes of this soap opera exist except one (#1219) which is the "lost show" episode. However, the audio of that episode has been found by a...

From MPI (buy the Deluxe)!
Dear Dark Shadows Fans,

We recommend buying the Deluxe Edition. I do believe Amazon might have sold out of the Limited Edition despite it still being available for pre-order.

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND:
We are releasing a second print of Dark Shadows coffins (also known as The Deluxe Edition). It is virtually the same as the Limited Edition (releasing on April 10th) however that version was limited in quantity and was offered early to fans. This Deluxe Edition coffin (the one you see on this product page) does NOT include a serial # nor does it include a Jonathan Frid signed postcard. If you missed out on that, I am sorry but they were very limited in quantity.

The good news is, you can still get your hands on this amazing coffin collection. We did try to price it as reasonable as possible as no expense was spared in building this set.

In summary:
Limited Edition = April 10th = includes autograph and serial #
Deluxe Edition = July...

Wanting the Dark Shadows Collection REAL bad!
I have seen the entire series many times and starting when it was first on TV many years ago. To say that I love this TV series would be a major understatement. There is just something about it that makes me want to see it again and again. Maybe because it mentally transports me back to a time when I was a kid at home after school, a time before my parents were deceased, a time when all seemed right in the world and the scariest thing about life was Barnabas and Angelique in Dark Shadows.

The Glades: Season 2

Florida murder presented as mystery but with humor + romance, multi-plots
There's no doubt `The Glades' compares to `Midsomer Murders.' Skilled copper, multiple crimes, additional plots, romantic moments, and comedy also in the mix. The Glades takes place in Palm Glades, a fictitious small town Florida (somewhere near the Everglades), while Midsomer is rural English villages. Glades storylines take into account Florida history, out-of-the-way settings, habitats, politics, animal life, ethnic diversity, and of courts FL-style murder. Also expect many bathing beauties--it's Florida. Like Midsomer, Glade makes use of MANY guest stars, too numerous to mention. Includes contemporary music worked into the story. Murder solving is by the episode but other relationship plots are ongoing from the beginning pilot in Season 1 through this set of stories.

Returning: Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore, an Aussie using American accent recognized only by bonus material in Series 1 DVD) is a top crime solver, but knows it and up-talks everyone from his boss to his...

The Batman/Superman Story - Part II

The curtain goes down...
Okay, Season 3 was good and Season 4 was even better. Now here come thirteen more episodes. If you like your Batman integrated into the wider DC superhero universe, then Season 5 will be hog heaven (but don't get it twisted; THE BATMAN is not at all placed in the same continuity as the shows in Bruce Timm's DC Animated Universe). This fifth season finds a darknight detective even more amenable to teamwork, although that's not to say he's all of a sudden the life of the party. Dude still broods muchly and cloaks himself in mystery and intimidation; that's just how he rolls. But, continuing the trend begun in Season 4, Season 5 showcases members of the Justice League. The two episode arc "The Batman/Superman Story" kicks it off by teaming up the World's Finest, Batman and Superman, in a nifty story featuring a whole gang of supervillains and the Bat going up against the Man of Steel. I guess it's appropriate that the season (and the series) would close with the two-part "Lost Heroes," a...

Welcome to the Big Leagues
The Dark Knight welcomes the Justice League to Gotham City in "The Batman: The Complete Fifth Season". As the mysterious crime fighter Batman, young industrialist Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protect Gotham City from such dangerous rogues like Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Mr. Freeze, but now he must test his courage and skills along side Earth's greatest superheroes. In this action-packed season, Batman joins the Justice League and teams up with Superman, Green Arrow, the Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman and Martian Manhunter against such villains like Lex Luthor, Mirror Master, Count Vertigo and more. "The Batman" is the Emmy Award-winning animated series based on the DC Comic hero created by artists Bob Kane and Bill Finger. The animated series maintains faithful to the comic books. The animation style and character designs are certainly different than previous television shows. The fifth and final season offers plenty of amusement and features guest voice stars like...

It's a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World

Best Fantasy TV show out there
A must have for those Sci-Fi/Fantasy lovers out there, especially those who once loved Buffy and Angel - two series Lost Girl is constantly compared to. It is, however, targeted to a more mature audience, given its sexual content. Bo (played brilliantly by Anna Silk) is a Succubus raised by humans that runs away from home once she drains her first boyfriend to death. Ten years later, she is found and targeted by the Fae when suspiciously leaving a body behind after protecting human sidekick Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) from a man at a local bar. Bo soon learns that the Fae are divided between Light and Dark and refuses to make a choice -- which is a parallel to Bo's own sexuality; a bisexual Succubus, constantly torn between two lovers: Light Fae detective Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) and human doctor Lauren (Zoie Palmer). The first season is about Bo's search for her true identity as we are introduced to the Fae world and its various secrets and ramifications.

Come on
I don't think its very fair to rate a Dvd 1 star simply because season 2 wasn't as good as the first. Superjail's second season may have not been as good as the 1st but nonetheless you can't buy this Dvd not knowing what you're getting into.
The series stays true with its humorous gore and chaotic scenes and even explains more into some of the characters history. There are plenty of episodes and even extra goodies to keep you entertained. Personally I find episode commentary and the animatics to be worth totally worth it just to see what goes on in the head's of the creators and behind the scenes, but hey, thats just me. If you're a fan of Superjail I would suggest you pick this up. If you are not familiar with the second season and are hesitant to buy this, then please watch an episode or two online first, just to see if it fits your taste.

Great animation.
Not as "fresh" as the first season, but still just as original. Depending on your taste, this is either artfully comical or vulgar blood and gore.

Amazing season 2!!!!
I can't believe how much detail and time goes into each and every episode!
only 11 min. long but so much going on.
can't wait for season 3!!

Cold-Blooded

This is a rating/review of the DVD -not the show...
SuperJail is by far one of the greatest pieces of animation to hit TV in the last ten years.
Clearly it's not for younger viewers as it was developed for the AdultSwim programming block on Cartoon Network.
As I mentioned before this is not a review of the Show, but of AdiultSwim's DVD product.

While the show is great in and of itself, this DVD is not.

Once again Adultswim is releasing a DVD with an "UNCENSORED" sticker on the package (Like they did with the Metyalocalypse DVDs) when this content is still COMPLETELY CENSORED as it was on the original Cablecasts and "air dates".
This is ridiculous.
I bought this DVD to see this amazing show without the silly BLACK BARS over images and without loud BEEPS over language.
Instead only the animatics, -the auxiliary extra content- is free of censor beeps etc.
I hope Adultswim smartens up and eventually releases these shows uncut, uncensored as they are currently advertising -falsely.
I...

SuperCensored!
What irritates me the most about this DVD is the "Uncensored warning" on the cover. Again this is only for the special features, NOT for the 10 episodes!!! This seems to be a trend with Adult Swim items. Just like Metalocalypes and Venture Brothers, this dvd is full of bleeps! What is the point of that? The main reason I collect these is to avoid the censorship and to enjoy them as they are meant to be viewed.

Why are these cartoons edited/censored?
Superjail! is a creatively gruesome cartoon suitable for the late night slot it was in on cable. Due to it's extreme nature it was never meant for anyone under 17. They should have kept the swears and sex (the censors have no problem with the ultra-violence however) and slapped an R or NC-17 rating on it. The censor beep is offensive to me. It shouldn't be on a DVD you buy.

Elephant Kingdom

Series is Nar. by Sir David Attenborough!
*4.5/5 Stars*

I am a *HUGE* nature doc fan and Attenborough-ophile. I watch pretty much anything and everything I can find on natural subjects. However, I don't much care for Animal planet or some Nat Geo T.V. dumbed down series.

This is a short series on the wildlife of India covering mostly Elephants, Tigers and Lions, oh my. I like the 3rd episode the best as I love deserts and desert flora and fauna.

Sadly, this series does not cover lesser known and fascinating animals that are rarely documented. It mostly covers highly publicized animals like Lions and Tigers, which, although important to document and rare in the wild, are seemingly over represented in the world of Nature Docs. I wish they had filmed a greater variety of species in this series.

If you liked this subject and love nature docs, I recommend the more in depth "BBC Wild India" and their other "Wild" series, such as South...

Awesome pictures of tigers, rhinos and lions!
In a country filled with cultural, economic, geographic diversity it is only befitting that the diversity is mirrored in its wildlife too. Perhaps the only country home to both the lion and the tiger, the sheer variety of wildlife is pure bliss for a wildlife lover and this documentary highlights some of the special moments offering a glimpse into the lives of these Indian beasts. The highlight for me though was the tiger and its beautiful cubs.

This documentary made me realise there is so much for us human beings to learn from the animals. Though the video quality was not quite HD as promised, I still loved the content.
